When Emily and Joe reached out to talk about their vision for their engagement photos in downtown Chicago, they had numerous options in mind – one of them being Euro-Chic-inspired attire. They wanted their photos to feel elevated, editorial yet candid and that’s exactly what we did.
TIMELESS ALLURE AT THE CHICAGO CULTURAL CENTER
With the ornate design inside the Chicago Cultural Center, I suggested they wear some pieces that complement the color scheme of the mosaic architecture, and oh, did they deliver. Emily opted for a silk Kelly Green slip dress that popped amidst the timeless allure of the Cultural Center. Joe looked equally as stunning with a simple black suit, that you can never go wrong with.
RALPH LAUREN INSPIRATION AT THE CHICAGO TRIBUNE TOWER
Once we wrapped at the Cultural Center, we made our way to the Tribune Tower. As I was researching European inspired locations for their session, I was shocked to find this gem that has been staring me in the face across the street from a typical location I often shoot at with my couples (and less populated!) The Tower screamed European to me and I couldn’t believe I had just found it as a Chicago Wedding Photographer who has seen her fair share of iconic locations. The couple swapped out their elegant black tie attire for all white matching outfits that spoke volumes. I always suggest my couples style their looks based on location, and they delivered. Emily and Joe looked like they had walked straight out of a Ralph Lauren catalog and that was fine by me. The lighting was magnificent as it dappled across the building in Chicago fashion.
ROMANTIC STROLL ON THE RIVERWALK
As the sun dipped below the city skyline, we wrapped up their engagement shoot on the Riverwalk, where Emily & Joe’s love story began. With the breeze rustling through the trees and the river softly murmuring nearby, they shared smiles and whispered promises, soaking in the romance of the moment. Walking hand in hand, they savored the casual beauty of the evening, grateful for this special chapter in their journey together.
